I Remembered

I remembered my other rant. Here's one more thing I don't miss about Washington (yes, there are some things - mostly walking on two legs - that I do miss). I'm listening to a blugrass tribute to AC/DC right now - AWESOME!

Word.

That article has some awesome quotes in it.

I love it how they point out that one person they interviewed was "drinking whiskey and smoking".

Then the one about "I'm torn between my love for Vienna sausages and my love for state services" is rich.

But it's meat - in - a - can! I like the stuff (especially Chili, and especially when I'm camping) but come on - if "good eats" to someone is potted meat or vienna sausages, I'm sure they don't need a sin tax for it. Leave it to Washington - I spent upwards of $150 a year there on fishing and hunting licenses, trail and parking permits - and they were still closing places for lack of funds! Something's going on their and I'm glad I'm not feeding the hog anymore...

I'm not saying it's not ridiculous, I was just amused by the fact that it reads like something from The Onion.

The fact that they're quoting tavern rats and people who can't make up their mind between Vienna sausage and state services is a joke.

Yeah, I thought it was funny that a lobbyist was in to cocktail weiners myself. And why you would need to justify you love of "smeat" against more money in the state budget - here's an idea - bureaucrats and politicians could all take a paycut...

Whiskey, Cigarettes, and Re-Constituted Animal Products do go well together...

Canned meat is a luxery item and should be taxed. Spam costs like $14 a pound. Mmmmmmmm, grilled Spam and cheese sandwiches are awesome!

It makes you wonder if they've ever thought about cutting spending on programs that aren't needed. There's no such thing as a free lunch, except in the Peoples Republic of Washington.
